iCook™ Wok:

What material is the iCook™ Wok made from?

The iCook™ Wok is made from multi-ply stainless steel. Its fully encapsulated slab base is made from a core of aluminum slab with a cap of ferritic stainless steel (magnetic stainless steel) for induction range compatibility. These five layers of metal make up the stainless-steel wok body:

  1. Type 304 stainless steel
  2. Carbon steel
  3. Type 304 stainless steel
  4. Aluminum
  5. Type 430 stainless steel

What is 18/10 stainless steel?

18/10 stainless steel is another name for Type 304 stainless steel, which contains 18–20% chromium and 8–10% nickel. The term 18/10 is derived from the required levels of chromium and nickel needed to be classified as Type 304 stainless steel.

Why use 18/10 stainless steel? What are the benefits?

Type 304 stainless steel is often used for cookware because it can be formed into many different shapes to provide consumers with the cookware products they want and need. It has excellent corrosion resistance, even when subjected to high heat. Type 304 stainless steel is also easy to clean because it has low porosity and relatively high hardness.

What material is used to make the stainless-steel lid?

The lid is made from solid, single-ply Type 304 stainless steel.

Why do I need to wash my wok before I use it the first time?

You should wash your iCook™ Wok in hot, soapy water with Amway Home™ Dish Drops™ Concentrated Dishwashing Liquid and Amway Home™ Scrub Buds™ Scouring Pads before using it for the first time to remove any residual manufacturing oils or polishing compounds. Although the wok is washed before packaging, it is possible that some manufacturing oils or polishing compounds could remain on it.

My wok has developed some white spots. Why did this happen, and can they be removed?

White spots are mineral deposits, such as calcium and/or sodium, which exist naturally in tap water and foods. These minerals can be removed by cleaning with vinegar. Just pour a small amount into the bottom of the pan and allow the spots to dissolve before rinsing and washing.

Do I need to use any special utensils while cooking?

Any nylon, plastic or wooden utensil will help prevent scratches on the wok. Never use a knife to cut food directly in the wok as scratches will occur. Metal utensils can be used, but avoid applying significant force to prevent scratches.

How does the Vitalok™ cooking method lock in nutrients?

The Vitalok™ cooking method uses lower temperatures and less added water. Cooking at lower temperatures helps prevent nutrients from breaking down. When you use less added water, you will retain more of the water-soluble vitamins and minerals in the foods you cook.

I set my lid on the countertop (or another flat surface) and now it is stuck. What do I do?

When the lid was placed on the flat surface, the air under the lid cooled and contracted, forming a partial-vacuum seal. It will be necessary to heat the lid sufficiently to cause the air to expand, allowing the lid to free itself. This can be accomplished by following these directions:

  1. Place a towel over the lid.
  2. Slowly pour enough hot water over the towel for it to soak.
  3. Allow the hot, wet towel to remain on the lid for several minutes to reheat it.
  4. Check to see if the lid has loosened. Do not try to pry the lid loose.

If necessary, repeat this process several times. It may help to pour some hot water around the rim of the lid while the hot, wet towel is in place on the top of the lid.

Amway Home™ Scrub Buds™ Scouring Pads:

Can Scrub Buds™ be used on Teflon®†?

We do not recommend the use of Scrub Buds™ on non-stick coatings such as Teflon®†. If a pan really has a Teflon®† coating, then no abrasive pad should be needed (food isn’t supposed to stick to the coating). Scrub Buds™ should not be used on iCook™ Nonstick Frypans.

Is it true that the stainless steel used in Scrub Buds™ is longer than a football field?

Yes, Scrub Buds™ contain 825 feet of stainless steel. A normal football field is equal to approximately 300 feet in length.

Can Scrub Buds™ be used on a glass-top stove?

We recommend that you follow the manufacturer’s instructions for maintaining your glass-top stove. Most common directions advise using only non-abrasive cleaners, such as Amway Home™ L.O.C.™ Muti-Purpose Cleaner (E-0001) and Dish Drops™ Dishwashing Liquid – Original (110488). After the warranty period is complete, contact the maker of the unit to ask if a stainless-steel scrubber is allowed for the occasional burned-on food cleanup.

Nutrilite™ Organics Plant Protein Powder – Unflavored:

Unflavored Protein What are the normal formula attributes that may be perceived as defects?

Color and taste changes: Nutrilite Organics products use natural, organic botanical ingredients in our formulations. Due to changes from crop to crop and season to season, these plant materials are expected to have slight, naturally occurring variations in color and flavor.

What scientific evidence is there to support this product?

Consuming protein daily provides amino acids that are the major, structural components of every cell in the body. They are precursors for nucleic acids, hormones, vitamins and other important molecules, and support enzyme, membrane, transport carrier and hormone function.

What are the differences between the various sources of protein (whey, soy, peas)?

Whey, soy, and peas all provide supplemental protein and are lower calorie options for increasing the consumption of protein. Whey and soy protein have traditionally been used as protein supplements because of their high digestibility and complete amino acid profile. Peas and other plant-based sources offer an alternative to whey and soy because of their potential health and environmental sustainability, and because they offer a great alternative to protein from milk and soy allergens. While digestibility is not as high, it still provides supplemental protein in one’s diet and helps address consumer desire for more vegan and vegetarian options with plants and fewer allergens.

iCook Wok:

You may use your iCook™ Wok on most stove tops (ceramic, glass, induction). Never use it on an outdoor grill as temperatures on these appliances are difficult to control and flare-ups may easily occur that could damage the pans and/or handles. This wok should not be placed in a microwave oven.

Since automatic dishwasher cleaning can dull the appearance of the handles over time, hand washing is recommended. Hand wash as soon as possible after each use with Amway Home™ Scrub Buds™ Scouring Pads, Amway Home™ Dish Drops™ Concentrated Dishwashing Liquid and hot water.

Nutrilite™ Organics Plant Protein Powder – Unflavored:

Mix 2 scoops of protein powder into 12–14 oz. of your preferred milk, water, juice or other liquid and shake well in a shaker cup or blender. Also try adding 1–2 scoops to your favorite recipes to boost your protein without adding unnecessary flavor.

Amway Home™ Scrub Buds™ Scouring Pads:

Scrub casserole dishes, ceramic pots and stainless-steel cookware clean. Also great for tools. Do not use on mirror-finish surfaces. Cleaning tip: Store your Scrub Buds pads in the upper level of your dishwasher. Run the pads through the dishwasher to help kill bacteria. Keep them handy on the shelf whenever you need them for scrubbing.
