Plants, products and operations form the foundation of Amway’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.
At Amway, we see sustainability as an opportunity, not an obligation. It’s a part of who we are—not just something we feel like we need to do. Sustainability is a journey, and we’re determined to find ways to keep deepening our impact by reducing our footprint. Through our regenerative farming practices, consciously created products and carbon-reduced operations, we will become an even more responsible and accountable Amway. For today. For tomorrow. For always.
Plants are at the heart of our sustainability journey. We build up healthy soil through crop rotations and composting. We increase biodiversity through cover crops, pollinator habitats and other measures. And we conserve water through moisture sensors, water meters and soil tests to optimize irrigation. We can trace our Nutrilite-grown botanicals all the way back to the seed planted on any of our nearly 6,000 acres of certified organic farmland. We also require our partner farms to take similar measures to increase regenerative farming and sustainability.
We are committed to making improvements that will reduce the environmental impact of our products for their entire life cycle. We select and source ingredients consciously, ideally from environmentally and socially responsible suppliers. We strive to reduce the environmental footprint of product packaging by eliminating excess materials and making them more likely to be recycled. And we aim to increase our use of post-consumer recycled material in our designs whenever possible. Our actions and commitments will reflect the planet’s most urgent needs as well as new knowledge coming to light from global research.
Our global supply chain manages the inventory, production and distribution of a wide range of products for Amway Independent Business Owners and customers all over the world. Our ever-evolving approach to sustainability in operations focuses on reduction of emissions, water, energy and waste—and we encourage our partner organizations to do the same. We use wind-generated power at our headquarters in Michigan and solar power at our location in China. Our manufacturing facility in India uses both, including one of the largest roof-top solar plants in the area with a zero-water discharge site. We’re also working to minimize the amount of waste we generate while ensuring the solid and liquid wastes we do have are responsibly diverted from landfills.
