WHY DOES THE CARBON-BLOCK FILTER HAVE TO BE REPLACED?
The tiny pores in the activated carbon of each eSpring® filter act as contaminant “traps.” Even if you do not use 1,320 gallons of water over the course of a year, large, organic molecules in standing water around the carbon block will begin to clog the pores over time. When that happens, smaller contaminants could slip over the blocked pores instead of being trapped inside them. So when you hear the alert tone, change the filter/cartridge. This ensures your eSpring unit will keep providing you with the high water quality it has been tested and certified to deliver.
