The Nutrilite Health Institute is home to the advanced scientific research that underlies the whole of the NUTRILITE™ brand. Here, dedicated scientists explore the effects of nutrition and lifestyle on human wellness, and investigate the most effective ways to put the power of nature to work in delivering optimal health.

Under the guidance of Dr. Sam Rehnborg, the son of Nutrilite's founder Carl Rehnborg, the Institute's 100-plus scientists use state-of-the art facilities to investigate every aspect of NUTRILITE supplements - from the best ways to grow crops to the effect of the finished product in the human body. Partnerships with a host of major universities and foundations around the world enable the Institute to pursue a better understanding of nutrition, health and supplementation.

Scientists from the Nutrilite Health Institute search the world over to find plants with health benefits that could be used in NUTRILITE supplements. New products can develop from studying the diets of populations with a low incidence of particular diseases, or by testing plants for phytonutrients with particular effects. Promising plants are grown in research plots, then harvested and processed for examination in the Analytical Lab at Lakeview. Researchers use analytical chemistry to identify which phytonutrients are present, and in what quantities. In developing new concentrates, analysis is carried out every step of the way to show if the process has successfully concentrated phytonutrients, or if valuable components have been lost during processing.

The Nutrilite Health Institute is also home to training and business-building programs for Business Owners from all over the world. The three-day Nutrilite Experience, for example, helps visitors to identify the health risks in their genetic heritage and lifestyle, and shows how Nutrilite's unique combination of science and nature can help to minimize the effect of those risk factors.

Center for Optimal Health

The Center for Optimal Health, located on the grounds of the Nutrilite facility in Buena Park, California, will be the headquarters and official home of the Nutrilite Health Institute. Currently under construction, the Center for Optimal Health will open its doors in the summer of 2005. The Center for Optimal Health will help drive awareness and understanding of nutrition by providing a first class facility for education, training and health assessments. The 35,000 square foot building will house flexible meeting spaces; a brand experience center featuring interactive product, history, and science-related exhibits; a custom-designed auditorium; a health assessment center; and research facilities.

The Center for Optimal Health will enable the NHI to bring together leaders in the fields of academia, science and research with business leaders and public audiences to increase consumer access to the highest possible level of nutritional information.
