Amway maintains an agreement with all state and local taxing authorities to collect tax on behalf of the Independent Business Owners. Other direct selling businesses may not obtain an agreement and require their distributors to obtain their own sales tax license. NOTE: On orders billed to a customer’s credit card, sales tax will be charged on the actual selling price. On orders billed to an IBO’s credit card, sales tax will be charged on the Suggested Retail price. IBOs who sell the product at a price other than retail, sell the product to a customer in another state, county, or city, personally consume or personally demonstrates the product, he/she may be eligible for a refund of overpaid sales tax or be required to remit additional sales tax.
