You can help rebuild Haiti You can help rebuild Haiti

Putting positivity to work by giving children hope.

In the aftermath of the devastating January 2010 earthquakes in Haiti, Amway is moving quickly to launch the next phase of the Amway Emergency Response Plan. And you can help.

In an effort to make a positive difference in the lives of those affected, Amway has partnered with SOS Children’s Villages to help build a village to care for homeless and abandoned children. SOS Children’s Villages works to improve the lives and well-being of children around the world. Two villages in Haiti – one in Cap-Haitien and one in Santo, in the Port-au-Prince area – currently provide homes for more than 500 children. View the video.

The newest SOS village will be built in Les Cayes. It will include 15 family homes, each supporting nine orphans and their “Special Mothers” who raise them as their own. The village also features a kindergarten, primary school, medical center, and community facilities.

Construction is slated for late 2010, dependant on approval from the Haitian government and the United Nations, to ensure compliance with a master construction plan for Haiti.

Because of the overflowing compassion of Amway, its employees, and Independent Business Owners (IBOs), more than $1 million in cash, products, and services was collected and put to use in Haiti during the immediate earthquake relief efforts.

Amway will provide $250,000 toward the building project, and invites its IBOs, employees, customers, and friends worldwide to participate with us by giving – gifts large and small are appreciated! It’s a rare opportunity to support this incredible effort and help provide a stable and caring environment for orphaned children.
